There and Back Again: The Incredible Journey of the MoonArk

On Monday, January 8th, Peregrine Mission One, the first privately funded lunar lander by Pittsburgh’s Astrobotic Technologies, achieved lift off at 2:18am from Cape Canaveral carried by ULA’s Vulcan Centaur rocket. On board the lunar lander were an assortment of payloads. The MoonArk, a cultural marker that combined the arts, humanities, sciences and technologies to help tell the story of humankind, was one of the most precious and important payloads.

Congratulations to our outstanding students who made the College of Fine Arts Dean's List for Fall 2023. The criteria for the dean's list is the top one-third of QPAs in each school within CFA.

Our 3rd year Communication Design students created public service messages to tell the story of the region's current state of broadband connectivity. The students' campaigns are critical in helping raise awareness, advocate for and educate the general population about the importance of high-speed connectivity and its role in our day-to-day lives. Thank you to our partners Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, in collaboration with Allies for Children and Carnegie Mellon University (Metro21 and Traffic21)
